White Poplar Hedging | Populus alba
- A hardy deciduous hedge with striking leaf colour which will tolerate even coastal conditions
- Beautiful dark green foliage with a white fluffy underside that shimmers in the wind. The young shoots and leaves are completely white and hairy and the leaves turn golden yellow in autumn. In spring, red and green catkins appear
- A fully hardy plant which will reach a height of approx 9m but can easily be maintained at lower heights
- Best grown in a sunny spot for the best leaf colour, Poplar tolerates all soil conditions. It is excellent for extremely wet conditions, windy areas and coastal situations where there is salt spray and is particularly useful as a boundary hedge
