- Fresh green rounded foliage with long catkins emerging from purple buds in summer and small woody cones in autumn
- As well as supporting over 90 wildlife species, this hedge is one of the most adaptable. It can live in wet and poor quality soils, making it ideal for coastal positions, river banks and other waterlogged positions
- A fully hardy, fast growing shrub which will reach a height of up to 5m but can easily be maintained at 2-5m
- Can be used as a windbreak and to shelter other plants from harsh weather conditions
